Hvað er norskur lýðskóli?
Norskir lýðháskólar eru einstakir. Skólarnir eru hluti af óformlega menntakerfinu í Noregi og ekki er hægt að bera þá saman við háskóla eða fagnámskeið þar sem áherslan lögð á próf og drifkraftinn til árangurs. Í norskum lýðháskólum byggist kennslan á samræðum og þekkingarskiptum á milli kennara og nemenda.
Nemendur (sem eru á aldrinum 18 til 30 ára) dvelja í lýðháskólanum og fræðast þar um ýmislega hluti, allt eftir því hvar áhugasviðið liggur. Þú munt upplifa persónulegan vöxt og öðlast þvermenningarlega vitund. Í lýðháskólanum þróar þú hæfileika þína innan þíns áhugasviðs, þú þroskast persónulega og gerir áætlanir til framtíðar.

A year at Romerike is lived around the clock. You share everyday life with others – on stage, in the band room, in the workshop, in the choir, in the dining hall and on the laundry list. There is collaboration, performances, laughter, conversations, concerts and community. And yes, everyone sings in the school choir – because we believe in the power of the voice, both alone and together.
In the design departments, you get to work practically, creatively and closely with the magic of the theater:

At Costume and Theater Makeup, you learn to sew and apply makeup like on professional stages – in our own sewing room and makeup department.

At Scenography you draw, build models and create the space where stories come to life.

At Lysdesign you explore how light and colors set mood and emotions.

At Music and Sound Engineering you can play in bands, work with live sound and create music in the studio.
If you choose Theatre or Musical Theatre , you get to let loose on stage and develop as an actor or musician – in the middle of a community that cheers you on.
Everything we do at Romerike is about creating something bigger together. Our theater performances and concerts are built piece by piece and each part is equally important to the whole.
