The Young Learner Summer Program in Wales (ages 11–17) is an educational initiative by Celtic hosted in the wonderful Monmouth school for boys, in Monmouth, Wales, UK – a great place to live, learn and discover the English language and culture!
Why is Monmouth such an amazing location? Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, yet close to historic cities like Bristol and Bath, it is the ideal setting for our Junior Summer Programme.
Monmouth provides a fantastic environment for young learners, aged between 11 and 17, to immerse themselves in an English adventure.
Engaging English lessons in the school every morning, are combined with a varied social and cultural activity programme in the afternoons and on weekends. Young learners will be able to experience Welsh and British culture, communicate more easily in English and grow in confidence whilst making new friends.
Our Junior programmes ensure a safe and enjoyable experience with our experienced teaching and support staff. The programme broadens young minds not only in learning the English language, but discovering the culture whilst learning valuable communication & social skills for life.
The English language lessons follow an innovative curriculum around the global themes of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
All AFS short programmes provide intercultural learning opportunities actively guiding you or your group to increase their Global Competence. The personal development of this “power skill” is critical for access to 21st-century employment and ongoing education.
